Eco Eraser Campaigns
As a form of concern about human's health and environment, FLOMO Education Foundation has been holding various donations and activities
In the first stages of Environmental Awareness, FLOMO Education Foundation hosted a charity event where it donated more than one million free PVC-Free erasers to kids in elementary schools in Taiwan.
In the second stage, the foundation launched the event “Eco Eraser Exchange – Save the Earth” to give students the opportunity to learn how to practically give up those PVC erasers, recycle and participate in Eco-friendly activities, such as “Drawing the Environment a Heart” and “Cherish your own Health”.
Bamboo charcoal comes from the rapidly growing moso bamboo plants. This type of bamboo can grow two feet or more in a single day. Bamboo forests are widely planted throughout Asia. It will be harvested at least five years after seedling. Therefore it will be available for generations to generations. And because it is a 100% natural product, it can be recycled into the ecosystem.
What is PVC?
PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) is a hard plastic, can be softer and flexible to be formed or bent by the addition of phthalates or latex.
What are the dangers of PVC and phthalates?
1. In 1970s the United States noticed that workers in PVC plants have malignant liver cancer.
2. Europe and Australia noticed several types of cancer in PVC plants in PVC workers’ body.
3. Causes hormonal problems, feminization and affects fertility.
4. Causes early puberty and increases the risk of cancer.
Recycling PVC is very difficult. Much of PVC waste is ending up in landfills. The incineration of PVC waste produces dioxin , which is a highly toxic substance that can cause cancer and other disease. Small amount of dioxin is related to immune and endocrine system, fertility problems and cancers.
